Many UK residents will already know Mecca Bingo. Founded in the 1960s, Mecca was one of the pioneers of UK bingo halls and still has 55 physical sites up and down the country. After going online in 2003, Mecca Bingo now boasts a multiple award-winning website while maintaining its reputation as one of the country's leading bingo operators.

As you’d expect, the Mecca online platform is very much bingo-led, with every conceivable bingo game and variation you can think of – along with some fun additions you may not have seen before. These include 'Special Rooms' where you can find cool new bingo games, like The X Factor and Rainbow Riches Bingo

When it comes to promos, Mecca has some great offers, including low and no wagering bonuses to use on bingo and slots. There are even some promos for those of you lucky enough to live near an actual Mecca Bingo hall!

I’ve reviewed Mecca Bingo before, with particular focus on its bonuses, promotions and prizes. But I was keen to get back into the nuts and bolts of its online offering to see whether this online bingo site still offers a top-tier experience for players.

Platform & Software

  • Playtech Logo

Mecca Bingo is powered by Virtue Fusion, and owned by Playtech – one of bingo's leading software providers.

I’m a massive fan of Virtue Fusion sites. While they can sometimes start to feel a bit familiar after a while, it’s good to know you’re backed by software trusted by loads of bingo sites and tons of players every single day.

Everything works exactly as it should, with games loading quickly and bingo room connections stable. I particularly like the layout and design which feels clean and fresh. Everything – right down to the fonts used – makes this feel like a well-designed platform. It's the perfect launchpad for a top online bingo experience.

As you click on the lobby, you get a great selection of games to choose from, including some special titles, such as Loose Women, Age of the Gods and Deal or No Deal Bingo.

All the games are easy to find and clearly laid out in the lobby. There's also a search bar to help you look for specific titles.

When you open up any bingo game, you'll find the chat section to the right usually bursting with people interacting. Underneath the chat, you’ll see the mini-game section where you can play short, quick-fire games while waiting for the main game to start.

You’ll find a small selection of online slots in the bingo lobby, but you can jump over to the 'Jackpots' tab on the home page to find Mecca's full catalogue which currently contains more than 100 of the most popular online slots.

It seems odd that the 'Slots' tab only shows around 40 slot games, whereas the lion's share of slots seem to be in the 'Jackpots' section, but I'm not complaining!

In another strange twist, there's also a 'Casino' section, so I was rather excited at the thought of some roulette, blackjack or even poker. However, that section is solely devoted to slots as well. It seems to be me that Mecca really wants you to play its slots!

Mecca Bingo offers apps for both iOS and Android users, which are award-winning in their own right. Download and installation takes a few seconds, with the apps themselves delivering a smooth, easy playing experience.

Games

For me, Mecca Bingo wouldn’t be a top-class bingo site if it didn’t have top-class games. It doesn’t disappoint!

There’s a huge selection of 90-ball, 80-ball and 75-ball rooms running throughout the day, giving you multiple options to play whenever it takes your fancy. You’ll also find a few more niche bingo games, like 40-ball and 50-ball bingo, for more rapid-fire play.

I’m a big fan of the specials at Mecca Bingo, which help keep things fresh. Once you’ve played a lot of standard bingo room games, it's nice to try out something completely different.

Games based on well-liked TV shows are very popular and Mecca has a great collection of them, including Deal or No Deal, Loose Women and The X-Factor. There are even bingo games based on fan-favourite slot games, like Rainbow Riches and the cute Fluffy Favorites!

Beyond the bingo rooms, the focus at Mecca is definitely on slot gaming, with a catalogue stocked with titles from some top developers such as Playtech, NetEnt, Eyecon and Pragmatic Play.

You can jump straight to 'Daily Jackpots', 'Jackpot King' and 'Mega Jackpots' tabs, so you can quickly navigate your way to the games  that offer the biggest prizes. And with more than 40 Slingo games also on offer, Mecca has more than enough for players who want to venture beyond traditional bingo.

90 Ball

You won’t struggle to find whatever 90-ball bingo game you are looking for with branded games, such as Loose Women, The X-Factor and Age of the Gods Bingo, to name just a few. You'll also find penny bingo and a variety of other 90-ball bingo titles as well.

80/75 Ball

On top of the known bingo games such as Deal or No Deal 75 and Spirit Twisted Bingo 75, you’ll find Cashline with 80-ball bingo and even more 75-bingo games available at your fingertips.

Specials

In this section, you’ll find the branded bingo games along with special games such as 50-ball bingo or 40-ball bingo. There’s also a unique game called Best Odds Bingo that allows 25 people in the game and gives everyone the same odds of winning – a 78% chance in fact.

Other games

For those looking for the biggest online slots, Mecca Bingo has your back! You’ll find a variety of the most popular jackpot slots, including Immortal RomanceJammin' Jars and the famous, millionaire-making Mega Moolah

If you love Slingo, then you'll love Mecca's collection of special Slingo titles which currently stands at 43 and counting. Some of my favourite Slingo versions you can find at Mecca include Tetris, Sweet Bonanza and Slingo XXXtreme.

Promotions & Rewards

Mecca Bingo certainly looks after its players, from the initial welcome bonus to the ongoing promos, competitions, giveaways and other offers running throughout the year.

Mecca's promos tend to be on decent terms, with low and no wagering the norm for most offers. There are also seasonal offers on both slots and bingo, such as the Everyone's a Winner £120K Bingo Game. So be sure to check Mecca's promo page regularly for the latest from this generous bingo site.

Deposits & Withdrawals

  • PayPal Logo
  • Paysafecard Logo
  • Visa Logo
  • Mastercard Logo
  • Apple Pay Logo

Payment options such as debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Paysafecard are accepted at Mecca Bingo. Please note that Paysafecard and Apple Pay are only suitable for deposits, not withdrawals.

You can deposit a minimum of £5 with no mention of a maximum limit.

Withdrawals are processed quickly and you can withdraw a minimum of £10 and a maximum of £15,000 per day. If you need to withdraw more than £15,000, you’ll need to contact customer service.

Depending on the payment method you use, most withdrawals should reach you within just a few minutes; however, with some banks this could take up to 3 working days.

Licensing & Regulation

In Britain, Mecca Bingo holds a licence from the UK Gambling Commission under the name Rank Interactive. For players outside the UK, Mecca also holds a licence in Gibraltar.

Both the UK and Gibraltar gambling authorities are amongst the most respected in the world, responsible for overseeing the compliance of countless bingo sites, bookmakers and online casinos.

With these licences in place, you can take comfort in knowing that regulators are keeping a watchful eye on how Mecca Bingo treats its customers.

Help & Support

Like most online bingo sites, you’ll find a thorough FAQ section that will answer many of your more general questions.

If you have a more specific issue and need to speak to an agent, Mecca runs a live chat service 24 hours a day. That said, you have to get through the 'Dabber' bot before you can speak to a real person and when I tried, I waited for over 20 minutes before I spoke to anyone. So the 24/7 claim might be a bit of a stretch.

Alternatively, you can message Mecca through a ‘Contact Us’ page or email the team at ‘[email protected]’ where you can attach documents if you need to.

In my opinion, the easiest way to get through to a real member of customer services quickly and easily is to simply call them Monday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm.
