William Hill is a name well-known to British punters. The sports betting giant, which originated back in the 1930s, made the move online in 1998 when the online industry was in its infancy. Back then, the site only featured a sportsbook, though a casino section was soon added.

Now an industry leader, William Hill’s site has been fleshed out to include a bit of everything, while offering some highly desirable bonuses with player-friendly terms and conditions.

William Hill aims high in every aspect – with generous banking limits, no fees, fast withdrawals, a variety of payment options and an extensive range of high-quality slots, table games, live casino and bingo games, all on top of its renowned sportsbook.

The ‘Vegas’ subsection of the site is where you’ll find over 700 slots, drawn from the biggest and brightest developers around, such as NetEnt, Yggdrasil and Microgaming.

By offering their no wagering casino bonuses to both new and existing players, William Hill secures the loyalty of its customers while successfully cementing its place as a leading site.

William Hill is part of 888 Holdings, which describes itself as “one of the world’s leading betting and gaming companies”.

At first it might appear to be a bit of a complex site but it’s not busy-looking enough that novices might be put off. When exploring, I got the impression that the site was built from the ground up with new sections added over time.

The slots library comes from such top developers as ITG, Microgaming, Blueprint, Red Tiger, BTG, NetEnt, Play’n GO, and Yggdrasil. In terms of live casino providers, there are quite a few William Hill original exclusives, as well as some more familiar titles from Playtech, Evolution and Pragmatic.

William Hill gives mobile players the option of playing through their mobile-optimised browser site, or through their Vegas app (the Sports app is a separate product). Considering the layout of the desktop site, which isn’t exactly stripped-down, they’ve done a great job of distilling it to fit a mobile screen.

Games

It would be impossible to miss William Hill’s cover-all-bases tactic, but the majority of what’s on offer is slots. There are 700+ for players to choose from, and the selection is pretty much all-killer-no-filler!

There are a few exclusives here too, generally supplied for William Hill by Games Global, so if you fancy something new, then these would be a good place to start.

The slots section of William Hill Vegas is arranged into five distinct categories. New releases take an up-front position. I’m a fan of this approach, as it’s all too easy to automatically return to a reliable old favourite, or to one of the several titles often found in ‘Most Popular’ lists. There are some decent new releases around, and it’d be a shame to overlook them.

The next of the five categories is for ‘Top Slots’, which is home to an interesting blend of the usual suspects, such as 9 Pots of Gold and Book of Dead, mixed in with some newer games, more niche games, and exclusives. It seems to me this category sits somewhere between a ‘Most Popular’ list and a ‘Featured’ section.

The ‘More Slots’ tab is equally ambiguous, containing an eclectic, perhaps random, mix of titles, and the ‘Drops and Wins’ tab holds 18 tournament-compatible games.

The ‘In Shops’ category pays homage to William Hill’s brick-and-mortar legacy, with online versions of titles which may be familiar to anyone who has visited one of their physical sites.

Jackpot fans will be glad to hear that William Hill has committed a section of their site to big prize games, with jackpots ranging from daily drops to gigantic millionaire makers, all arranged into helpful categories.

As there doesn’t seem to be a clear way to view the full list of available slots, it’s advisable that players make use of the tabs and search function, but once you get the hang of finding your way around, it’s almost guaranteed that something will tickle your fancy!

Other games

The ‘Sports’ and ‘Vegas’ sections of the site are distinct and kept separate, which seems like a smart way of arranging a site which has everything but doesn’t want to overwhelm players.

William Hill is a beast of a casino with its roots in sports betting, so it’s not surprising that the sportsbook is extensive, covering just about every sporting fixture you can imagine. And more.

Similarly, the Live Casino is well equipped with a range of blackjack, roulette, poker, baccarat and game shows. There’s also a section for some Evolution-provided video table games based on random number generators.

In all, there’s more than 100 live games, which is quite impressive, and should be enough to draw in players looking for them specifically.

Bingo also gets a dedicated section, which makes sense considering how there are regular games starting every minute and a total of more than 20 rooms. In addition to a handful of William Hill originals, there are some branded bingo rooms like Virtue Fusion’s Deal or No Deal Bingo and Age of Gods Bingo.

Poker is also given its own tab, but the contents generally overlap with the Live Casino and Vegas sections of William Hill. Nevertheless, it’s likely to be helpful to any player who fancies a few hands.

Promotions & Rewards

If, like me, the ‘Promotions’ tab is one of the first places you head when eyeing up a casino site, brace yourself! William Hill’s is packed with regular, ongoing, seasonal and one-off bonuses divided into ‘Headline Promotions’, ‘Gaming’ and 'Key Features’.

In the former, I found no shortage of sports-related promos. Whilst I’m not really one for sports betting, I was still impressed by the selection of accumulator boosts, odds boosts and money-back bonuses. The ‘Key Features’ section is home to a handful more sports-related bonuses, including odds boosts and guarantees.

Under ‘Gaming’, at the time of writing, I found no less than 11 casino bonuses! These range from no-deposit wager-free spin giveaways – for apparently no reason other than to keep players happy – to Drops & Wins, tournaments, daily free-to-play mini games, and a large ‘Monthly Magic’ bingo game.

Welcome bonuses vary, but there are usually some pretty decent options here, such as combination deposit and free spin bundles, often with no/low wagering requirements.

It’s safe to say that I was impressed by the both range of bonuses available on William Hill, and their overall quality and value. Despite being a gigantic company, William Hill knows how to look after the little guy.

Bonuses & Free Spins

William Hill Vegas’ free spins bonuses frequently come with no wagering requirements and no win limits, but always check the terms and conditions to make sure you fully understand how it all works.

Loyalty Rewards

While playing any of the games over at William Hill, you can earn yourself 'Comp Points', which can equate to bonus credit eventually. You'll bag a point for every tenner spent.

Deposits & Withdrawals

The list of payment methods accepted by William Hill is pretty exhaustive. Players in the UK can deposit and withdraw via Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Bank Transfer, Apple Pay, Neteller, Skrill, EcoPayz and Paysafecard. (Remember, though, that UK sites aren't permitted to accept credit cards.)

I’m fairly easy to please when it comes to banking, but appreciate that when it comes to giving players options, more is always better!

Deposits are instant, and withdrawal processing takes between 30 minutes and 4 hours for Visa Direct, up to 1 day for e-wallets, and up to 5 working days for bank transfers. There’s absolutely nothing to sniff at here, and players who need snappy withdrawals are likely to be satisfied.

The minimums are also player-friendly, with the limit for both deposits and withdrawals being just £5 in some cases – £10 for other methods. This is about as fair as banking limits get, which is nice to see!

Licensing & Regulation

William Hill is known as a reliable and well-established brand. To back this up, this operator holds licences with the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA/CRP/121/2006-05), UK Gambling Commission (39225) and Gibraltar Regulatory Authority.

Help & Support

The ‘Help’ section of the William Hill site is probably as detailed as any I’ve come across, to the extent that it’s almost a complete site within a site.

Evidently, William Hill wants to avoid players needing to get in contact in the first place, so are providing as much information upfront as possible. With so many categories, FAQs and separate help pages, this could become overwhelming, but the helpful search function makes finding a solution pretty easy.

If you need to get in touch, you’ll be encouraged to do so via live chat or X, formerly Twitter, (@willhillhelp). The email and phone number, whilst available, aren’t clearly displayed.

The chat will first put you in touch with a mildly annoying ‘Digital Assistant’, but it’s not difficult to get through to an agent, and once you do, your query should be resolved quickly. Also, it’s available 24/7, which is a big plus for the night owls among us.
