EGR Operator Awards 2018

NoWagering.com shortlisted for Affiliate of the Year Award

The glittering EGR Operator Awards 2018 took place on the 25th of October at Grosvenor House in London and NoWagering were shortlisted for the Affiliate of the Year award. The awards were also streamed by Pragmatic Play and EGR Global on YouTube.

The event, this year sponsored by NetEnt, started in 2004 and honours the best operators and game providers in iGaming. Judges look for excellent examples of product development, innovation, flexibility, reliability, scalability, integration, delivery, user interface and user experience, in shortlisting brands and selecting award winners.

It was an exciting time for all of us here at No Wagering, and we're honoured all the hard work has been recognised, especially as we only launched a short while ago.

“The EGR awards is the Oscars of iGaming and features some of the biggest names in the industry, and so it was an absolute privilege and honour to be shortlisted for the Affiliate of the Year award, especially considering NoWagering only launched a little over a year ago,” said Pavlos Sideris founder of NoWagering.

“It shows that our cause and beliefs are appreciated in the industry and we hope that this recognition, if nothing else, demonstrates the importance of acting responsibly, and can help set a standard in the industry.”

To impress the judges as an affiliate, companies had to show differentiation, quality, significant traffic, growth, innovation and strong relationships with partner brands.

Although we didn’t win the award this time, the event was an exciting showcase for the gaming industry’s recent success, with plenty to feel positive about.

It was a successful night for some of our partners – we were delighted to see our friends at tombola claim two awards, one for the best bingo operator and one for the best marketing campaign. The tombola team said they were ‘proud as punch’.

To win this award, tombola had to demonstrate strong products with a strong customer base, marketing excellence and an active online community. Tombola also gained credit for innovation.

GVC Holdings, owners of Party Casino and more, won the Casino Operator and Operator of the Year award, while their poker website, partypoker won the Poker Operator award.

And there was a double win for Paddy Power Betfair, who were presented with awards for Horse Racing Betting Operator and Football Betting Operator.

Taking a leaf out of our book at NoWagering, the EGR Operator Awards made a step forward in being transparent by bringing in an independent adjudicator from Deloitte to officiate the event. There were 25 officials on the judging panel this year, ensuring a range of ideas and perspectives.

“We always try to make our awards the most transparent and fair in the whole industry, so hopefully that’s another step in this regard,” said EGR Group Head of Content Andrew Roocroft, as he opened the ceremony.

So that’s the ‘Oscars of iGaming’ over for another year and it was fantastic to take our place among the best operators and game providers around. We can’t wait to be part of this great occasion again next year, and hopefully we’ll be taking home an award of our own.
