Jurassic World Features
Just like in most other slots, the free spins round is triggered by landing at least 3 scatters onto the reels. You will instantly gain 10 free spins but be given a random bonus. These bonuses include:
- Gyrosphere Valley - a multiplier trail is added and the free spins round only ends after the winning spin.
- Creation Lab - winning symbols are removed in favour of new ones and can even award consecutive wilds. The wilds also remain on the reels for 3 wins.
- Raptor Den - the scatters are all wild and held in place until they award additional free spins. This can even be retriggered by landing 3 or more scatters.
Indominus Feature
At any moment during the base game, you could be visited by the Indominus rex that just pops up on the screen. If you see the creature, your win could be boosted up to 1,000x your stake.
Free Spins
If you land 3 or more scatters, you'll trigger 10 free spins and 1 of 3 different bonuses. Each bonus is a location with special features and can be chosen after you trigger free spins 15 times.
Jurassic World Review
Based on the 2015 film of the same name, Jurassic World is a 5-reel, 243 payline slot that can award players up to 14,000x their stake. After the success of the film and the revitalisation of the franchise, it was almost destined that Microgaming would release a slot just for the fans.
It was the second-highest-grossing film of 2015 and only lost the top spot to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now fans of the series can get the opportunity to experience the world of the Jurassic Park franchise for themselves with the potential to win big from it.
Design
This is easily the biggest letdown of the slot as the background is just a still from the film. There is no animation or exclusive image - which does feel a little cheap. All the symbols feature characters and creatures from the films with Owen Grady (portrayed by Chris Pratt) being the biggest human payout.
Sadly, the music is just as boring and bland as the design. There is literally no music playing throughout spins and only a few sounds as you spin the reels. This is a missed opportunity to play the brilliant score from John Williams or a new theme that just sounds epic. It almost feels dead on arrival and definitely needed something more.
Gameplay
There is nothing huge or innovative in terms of gameplay as it's perfect for newcomers to slots with simple gameplay. All you need to do as a player is set your bet and spin in hopes of winning.
Any menu that you need can be found at the bottom of the screen with the spin button, bet level and autospin button.
Win Potential
Thankfully, Jurassic World has an RTP of 95.45% with a medium volatility level. During the base game, you can hope to win up to 1,000x your stake through the Indominus Rex boost. However, during the Gyrosphere Valley free spins, you could win up to 14,000x your stake if you fill the reels with wilds and gain the multiplier of x7.
Our Verdict
Whilst the Jurassic Park series is beloved by film fans all over the world, this slot may not be. The graphics are a little outdated and the gameplay isn't anything special. However, players may be enticed by the win potential being quite solid, so it may find life there.
If you love the Jurassic Park series and want to try the slot, then it's definitely worth a spin as long. Players who are new to the series have nothing to worry about as there is no definitive link aside from the characters.
