Playtech secures the inaugural GamCare B2B Safer Gambling Accreditation

GamCare, a British gambling harm and awareness charity, have given out their first award for their newly developed B2B (Business-to-Business) Safer Gambling Standard to Playtech following an in-depth review of the developer's business. Playtech, known for many online slot hits such as Age of the Gods, Kingdoms Rise, Frankie Dettori: Sporting Legends, DC Wonder Woman and The Dark Knight, are the first-ever recipients of the Safer Gambling Standard award.

The Safer Gambling Standard assess how much businesses protect customers from gambling-related harms and recognise the companies that have protection for players in place.

Playtech are “Demonstrating a clear focus on continuing to develop and improve its approach to safer gambling”

“Playtech was awarded advanced level 2, of 3, of our B2B standard for its casino product and platform operations licensed in Great Britain,” explained Hayley Jane Smith, head of safer gambling standards at GamCare.  “As the company demonstrated a clear focus on continuing to develop and improve its approach to safer gambling in respect of products supplied to gambling operators.”

GamCare highlighted the Sustainable Success strategy and the external stakeholder advisory board as good practices in regards to safer gambling. They also praised the initiative called Playtech Protect that groups together all the safer gambling and compliance tools and technology to offer a range of solutions to the market.

“Playtech’s focus on safer gambling was tested through an in-depth review of its governance, product design, innovation and staff training as well conducting interviews with staff and management at all levels,” stated Smith. “We look forward to continuing to work with Playtech on the ongoing development of its safer gambling approach and the assessment of its other B2B business operations.”

“Extremely proud to be the first B2B business to receive GamCare's B2B Safer Gambling Accreditation,” says Playtech

“Through our industry-leading products and services we have always worked closely with our licensees to help raise industry standards in responsible business and safer gambling,” stated Richard Bayliss, senior regulatory affairs and compliance manager at Playtech. “Since 2018, we have increased our strategic focus by working with academics, charities and thought leaders inside and outside, the gambling sector to deliver our ‘Sustainable Success’ commitments.”

Furthermore, Playtech stated that they are “extremely proud to be the first B2B business to receive GamCare’s B2B safer gambling accreditation, and we are pleased that GamCare has recognised our efforts to put safer gambling at the heart of what we do.”

However, they know that they have to keep pushing for better solutions as Bayliss stated “We know we must continue to challenge ourselves and work with others to identify and develop new products and solutions to meet the needs of customers, licensees and regulators.”
