Safer Gambling Week 2021 has been hailed as a success
Everyone in the entire UK and Ireland iGaming industry banded together to promote responsible gambling for Safer Gambling Week 2021 from the 1st November until 7th November 2021.
From this campaign, there were near 25 million social media impressions ultimately meaning the number of times Safer Gambling Week content was displayed on sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
A record-breaking campaign
The increase is a huge 19 per cent rise in 2020 where the campaign reached an astounding 21 million impressions. Alongside this, the number of Safer Gambling Week's own social media account impressions jumped from 800,000 in 2020 to 1.4 million this year - a huge increase of 75 per cent.
Safer Gambling Week even contained a huge amount of celebrities including former England striker Michael Owen, heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, top jockey Rachael Blackmore and horseracing legend AP McCoy (who has his own slot called AP McCoy: Sporting Legends).

The Gambling Commission suggested that the rate of problem gambling fell from 0.6 to 0.3 per cent in the past year in recent figures. Additionally, those deemed at 'moderate risk' of harm has come down from 1.2 to 0.7 per cent.
“Millions of people enjoy a bet safely and responsibly, and the fall in problem gambling rates suggests that the work we have done at the BGC to promote safer gambling is starting to have an impact. But we are not complacent and will continue our efforts to raise standards even higher.”
