The anonymous Spaniard won the landmark jackpot whilst playing Playtech title Gladiator: Road to Rome, a popular slot based on the Oscar-winning film and sequal to the equally popular 2012 Gladiator slot game.

In order to win this life changing sum of money the player had to land 9 gold helmets in the Gladiator bonus game, a feat very few lucky players have ever achieved. 

'A great step forward' for Spanish players

This win now means that Playtech slot games have now paid out €7.3 million in Spain alone.
