Just over £16m donated to GambleAware from the biggest names in iGaming

During the first three quarters of its fiscal year, GambleAware received £16.0m (€19.0m/$21.7m) in donations by the iGaming industry.

The leading multi-million-pound pledges came from Bet365 (Bet365 Bingo) and Entain (Party Casino) with £4,214,000 and £4,000,000 respectively donated.

The £16m in donations will go towards supporting the charity

Between 1st April 2021 and 31st December 2021, GambleAware received a total of £16 million from voluntary donations from the gambling industry and this excludes regulatory settlements and additional donations.

Aside from Bet365 and Entain, other big donators included Videoslots Casino and Playtech who donated £50,000 and £51,768 respectively.

All the funds go towards activities to support the charity's objectives, research and to support the prevention of gambling harms.

A vision for a society safe from gambling harm

In response to this news, GamblingAware said that their vision “is for a society safe from gambling harms. To achieve this, the charity is currently delivering more than 40 workstreams of work against each commissioning objective.”

“This activity includes services and programmes of work, including the National Gambling Treatment Service, Annual Treatment and Support Survey and Gambling Education Hubs.”

GambleAware thanks all supporters

The charity further stated: “GambleAware has a robust, independent and accountable system of governance processes and procedures in place.”

They concluded: “On behalf of all those that benefit from their funding, we would like to thank our supporters once again for their much-valued support.”
